Temporary houses include: Old Windmill (1862–1869), Parliament House (1869–1873) [3] and General Post Office (1873–1879).\n\nThe Queensland government built a home for the museum in William Street (later known as the John Oxley State Library), with the Queensland Museum moving there in 1879. The museum occupied the William Street location for 20 years. five.\n\nIn 1899, the Queensland Museum moved into the Gallery (now known as the Old Museum), on Gregory Terrace in the Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills, which remained there for 86 years.\n\nIn 1986, the Queensland Museum moved to the Queensland Cultural Center at South Bank, where the museum was adjacent to the Queensland Art Gallery. It was opened by the Duke of Kent in 1985.\n\nAlthough originally opened as the “Queensland Performing Arts Complex”, after years of resisting the popular mis-naming of the building, it was officially changed to the “Queensland Performing Arts Centre” and all signage was altered to match.\n\nOpening with only 3 stages, the Lyric Theatre, the Concert Hall and the Cremorne Theatre, the Centre was designed with expansion in mind. In 1998 the Playhouse was opened, ending the original extension plans. A fifth and likely final Theatre (seating 1500-1700) was announced in late May 2018 with a budget of $125 million. Completion is aimed for 2022. Currently tenders are being sought for its design.\n\nIn 2017, QPAC hosted more than 1.3 million visitors to more than 1,200 performances, given the city population of Brisbane at 2.4 million, with the South East Queensland area's population sitting at 3.5 million and the entire State of Queensland at 5 million."},{"type":"link","content":"https://www.qpac.com.au/"}]},{"address":"South Bank","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":-27.47981766265224,"longitude":153.02236345450297},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"The South Bank Grand Arbour is a stunning covered walkway lined with beautiful flowers and makes for some great photographs too."},{"metadata":{"width":1000,"height":1400},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FSaRzl2nycxwlCWQsGFFj%2F21-04-12__DSF0123-scaled.jpg?alt=media&token=478c3175-9ba4-4fba-9529-e00883b9526b"}]},{"address":"The Wheel of Brisbane.","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":-27.475228358258015,"longitude":153.02061215000003},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# The Wheel of Brisbane."},{"metadata":{"width":600,"height":450},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FSaRzl2nycxwlCWQsGFFj%2Fbd53914bbd4c1427f88de498a6d8f357.jpeg?alt=media&token=73c2edfa-89e8-47f2-9edf-e7c9d298a124"},{"type":"text","content":"Located at the entrance to the South Bank Parklands and towering 197 feet (60 meters) over the river, the Wheel of Brisbane has been part of the skyline since 2008.
