There is a couple of good coffee shops on the main drag (Burnett St) and there is also a Woolworths with plenty of parking. Buderim is always a couple of degrees cooler than the coast so it's very popular with retirees however other than picking up supplies there is not a lot for families or couples in the village itself so you likely won't spend more than 15 min or so on the main street."},{"metadata":{"width":300,"height":225},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fn9hQNcnI2CgNwo4t09Z6%2Fstop_0_4.png?alt=media&token=fb3c2702-f7fc-415f-97f6-20c390556df0"},{"type":"text","content":"Once you've picked up a coffee or supplies and had a quick look at the main street of the Village, it's time to jump in the car and follow your GPS for the 3 minute drive to the Buderim Forest Park."}]},{"address":"Buderim Forest Park, Quorn Close, Buderim QLD, Australia","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.0421,"latitudeDelta":0.0922,"latitude":-26.6791797,"longitude":153.0482623},"media":[{"metadata":{"width":640,"height":480},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fn9hQNcnI2CgNwo4t09Z6%2Fstop_1_0.png?alt=media&token=29a93763-00e1-4dd7-9d28-9aba250f72a2"},{"type":"text","content":"There are two entrances to the park. Enjoy the babble of Martin Creek, which never runs dry. No one knows quite where the spring that feeds the creek starts, but this guaranteed clean drinking water was the reason why the area was so important to the local Kabi Kabi people. Indeed resources like this were a source of conflict between indigenous tribes, and later between the traditional owners and European settlers. There were multiple, often violent, clashes in the area and there is a monument on nearby Fraser Road to the indigenous people who lost their lives in the Frontier Wars. Here you can swim under, through and behind the waterfall and enjoy the cooling waters. The waterhole itself may be a little cloudy with fine sand stirred up by the falls, but even if you can't see the bottom, its safe as long as you're sensible and take cautious steps. Except during the height of the summer holidays, not many people visit the falls and it's not uncommon on week days or in winter to have the area to yourself. While not 'majestic' or 'huge' the waterfall and pool is beautiful and lends itself to both peaceful contemplation and Instagramable photos."},{"metadata":{"width":617,"height":389},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fn9hQNcnI2CgNwo4t09Z6%2Fstop_2_2.png?alt=media&token=c43b2793-14f5-45d8-b19e-a34904a932f9"},{"type":"text","content":"It's worth crossing the single span foot bridge for great views down on to the waterfall and swimming hole. They had been slain by a rival tribe who considered that only they had the right to hunt in the area. Disconsolate, the sisters wept continuously until impatient spirits, weary of their sorrow, changed them into the three water falls of the valley. The three dead warriors, hearing that the tears of their lovers never stopped, changed themselves into rainbows.\n\nIf you look carefully you may still see the iridescent flash of the rainbows’ colours gleaming through the falling waters."}]},{"address":"Buderim Tavern, Burnett Street, Buderim QLD, Australia","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.0421,"latitudeDelta":0.0922,"latitude":-26.6880646,"longitude":153.0489697},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"If you've brought picnic supplies with you, you can enjoy your lunch on the rocks beside the waterfall or return to the picnic area near the car park. Ask for a table as close to the window as possible and the friendly staff will oblige if they can, but every table on the dining room or on the deck will give you great views.
