What Makes Your City True Blue

Updated: Sep 9, 2021

With the Aussie summer fast approaching you and people starting to leave their homes nows a better time than ever to show off what makes your city True Blue. The hiking spots through beautiful Aussie nature, or maybe the inner city pubs that are only known to the locals who’ve been there for years, all these spots would make for great inspiration for your next experience on FreeGuides. What is True Blue? Well, that’s entirely up to you. Create an experience around whatever activities you believe makes your city uniquely Australian, those experiences that you believe make you feel like a real True Blue Australian. We’ll give you all the tips and tricks to help you become the latest guide superstar here on FreeGuides.

Summer Days at the Beach

Whether your down in Sydney checking out the Bondi to Bronte, Sydneys North catching waves at Freshwater, or maybe you’re all the way across the country in Perth, relaxing at Cottesloe or Scarborough beach. Australia is famous for its summer days spent, with people relaxing spending breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the beach suburbs. Send your explorers to do famous coastal walks, check out the best local cafes and restaurants, or just sits in the shade and enjoy the tides coming in and out. When you finish there are a host of local pubs to head to for an evening nip following your afternoon kip. Just make sure to tell your explorers to pack extra sunscreen and water, the Australian sun is no joke, and they’ll be sure to tip you extra if they don’t return home looking as bright as beetroot. People from all over the world travel near and far for Australia’s best beaches, so if you’re looking to start your foray into FreeGuides or maybe your an experienced guide looking for new inspiration and ideas to keep your successful streak going, then I can’t recommend an experience more than checking out your cities local beaches.

Explore the Bush

Australia is famous for its wildlife and natural beauty, and don’t worry, we won’t be sending you on experiences with snakes and spiders if that’s what you’re worried about. But if you’re looking for a brand new idea for your explorers to take, then I would recommend sending them to the various national parks and hiking trails. Up in Queensland you the second-largest rainforest in the world, the Daintree Rainforest. But if you’re like me, and are Sydney born and bred then I recommend heading an hour up North to Sommersby Falls. A beautiful natural waterfall with two hiking trails depending on your energy levels and some phenomenal spots to sit down and enjoy the sunshine peeking through the trees above. If you find yourself down south in the heart of Melbourne, I’d recommend creating an experience around the Dandenong Ranges. Stunning walks through temperate rainforests await you but make sure you pack lots of water, they don’t call it a mountain range for nothing.

See our Wildlife

The Aussie Wildlife is probably one of the most iconic things about this great continent of ours. From Kangaroos to Wombats, and Koalas too. Not to mention the big birds like our Cassowary’s and Emus, Australia has a host of wildlife just waiting to be explored. Create experiences for your new explorers to show off our amazing wildlife, and hey if you’re an expert, you may even be able to teach your explorers a thing or two. You can send our new visitors to iconic zoo’s like Taronga and Melbourne, or maybe you want to send them to see the Possums and Flying Foxes in a Centennial Park nighttime exploration. The zoo does not only provide a place for the whole family to enjoy, but also provides great learning experiences about the endemic wildlife here in Australia. Find out all about what makes the Koala habitat so precarious, or maybe learn about the rare and endangered bush babies in central Australia. The Aussie Wildlife is so iconic that we’ve even put it on our coat of arms! Make sure to show off your True Blue expertise, and this great country of ours when you send your explorers on this next experience.

If you’re looking for something to do this Summer, show off what makes your city True Blue. Then hop onto FreeGuides and create an experience for all those new explorers out there eager to see the country which we love.
