Currimundi means place of the Flying Foxes in the local indigenous Kabi Kabi language and while you probably won't see any if these flying mammals you will see amazing views, beautiful flora and lots of birds and butterflies. The Kabi Kabi people have lived in this area for tens of thousands of years, with the coastal strip and estuaries providing plentiful food sources including kangaroos, possums, echidnas, lizards, snakes and birds. Grab yourself a takeaway coffee from Thrills Cafe and then head to Cliff Hargreaves Lookout where you can watch the surfers and swimmers and on most weekends enjoy the sight of parachutists landing on the beach. Head back to Thrills where you're walking tour starts. From here travel south along the road that runs parallel to the beach. Admire the oceanside houses many of which are a little more than 1960s beach shacks but now sell for upwards of $2 million!"}]},{"address":"Coondibah Creek, Currimundi QLD, Australia","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.0421,"latitudeDelta":0.0922,"latitude":-26.7737149,"longitude":153.1363219},"media":[{"metadata":{"width":820,"height":614},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FS2meGnRC1PTWixm5lgJP%2Fstop_1_0.png?alt=media&token=ccf80c61-6247-447a-b2a6-b6fa6e0f71b0"},{"type":"text","content":"About 100m south of Thrills the road joins the coastal path. Follow this easy path through the fragrant bush land and enjoy the glimpses of the ocean through the trees. Listen to the native birds and keep an eye out for the many types of butterfly. You might even see the rare but beautiful Bluewing! Continue to the wooden bridge which crosses the creek. Admire the views and the many dogs brought here by their owners to swim. \nHere you can walk 20m to continue your journey on the beach or stay on the coastal path (don't worry there are other places to join the beach further along). Continue south towards Dicky Beach."}]},{"address":"Dicky Beach QLD, Australia","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.0421,"latitudeDelta":0.0922,"latitude":-26.7827257,"longitude":153.1328609},"media":[{"metadata":{"width":678,"height":443},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FS2meGnRC1PTWixm5lgJP%2Fstop_2_0.png?alt=media&token=5581c49b-7196-4f71-851d-3b432feb13ea"},{"metadata":{"width":666,"height":454},"type":"img","version":1,"content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FS2meGnRC1PTWixm5lgJP%2Fstop_2_1.png?alt=media&token=adbe0bdb-9077-44e1-b4b1-4543d0f28ced"},{"type":"text","content":"Dicky Beach itself is a patrolled swimming beach and much loved by local families. Why not mix it up a little and take the coastal path where you previously took the beach path and vice versa? If you chose not to eat at the surf club, back at Currimundi Lake you should definitely grab a burger at Coco's. This local cafe might not be much to look at but the burgers are absolutely amazing.
