As a local guide, I'm excited to tell you all about this magnificent building and its significance in shaping Dublin into what it is today.\n\nHave you ever wondered what it's like to stand in the footsteps of history? Well, this is your chance to do so. The Custom House was originally constructed in the 18th century as a tax collection point by the British government. Did you know that it was the largest public building constructed in Dublin during the 18th century?\n\nAs a famous Irish author once said, \"The past is never dead. It's not even past.\" The Custom House stands as a testament to Dublin's past, but it's also just as relevant in the present. It's a stunning example of Georgian architecture that has been immaculately restored, providing a glimpse into the grandeur of Dublin's past.\n\nAs we stand in front of the Custom House, take a moment to appreciate the symmetry and attention to detail in the building's design. The building is made of Wicklow granite, and its grand facade is adorned with 14 stunning statues that represent different virtues.\n\nBut wait, there's more! Inside, the building boasts a breathtaking central rotunda, which is topped with a stunning dome. The rotunda leads to multiple wings, each filled with offices and meeting rooms, and all beautifully designed and decorated.\n\nAs a guide who loves architecture, I have to say that the Custom House is one of my favorite buildings in Dublin. You won't want to miss it on your walking tour, especially since it's located on the banks of the River Liffey and offers stunning panoramic views of Dublin city.\n\nThere's so much to see and explore in and around the Custom House. Take your time and soak it all in. And when you're ready, we'll be off to the next stop on our tour.\n\n"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2F0417.mp3?alt=media&token=291c792e-9270-41d3-a3b7-c877fe231a7e"}]},{"address":"Molly Malone Statue","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.18501439196141306,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":53.34377242133907,"longitude":-6.26100350000002},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Molly Malone Statue"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2FMolly-Malone.jpg?alt=media&token=2b38eec7-c5fe-4bf0-932f-34a0f947d3fc"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2FMolly-Malone-in-Dublin-2.jpg?alt=media&token=00b79454-61b2-40b2-9b75-74a0c347d61c"},{"type":"text","content":"Our next stop is Molly Malone Statue, one of the most beloved landmarks of Dublin! Have you ever wondered why a naked fishmonger has become such an iconic symbol of the city? Well, let's take a closer look and find out.\n\nLegend has it that Molly Malone was a beautiful fishmonger who sold cockles and mussels on the streets of Dublin from a wheelbarrow. As famous Irish songwriter James Yorkston once said, \"Dublin has so many treasures, and Molly Malone is certainly one of them.\" Her statue was erected in 1988 to honor the bard of the famous song “Cockles and Mussels.\"\n\nBut did you know that there's more to this statue than meets the eye? As you can see, Molly Malone is holding her muscular arms up high, a sign of the hard work she put in to support her family. What a strong and independent woman she was!\n\nAs a local guide, I can tell you that this statue is special to many Dubliners not just because of its historical significance, but because it symbolizes the spirit of this city - people who work hard, love deeply, and celebrate life in all its joys and sorrows.\n\nIf you're a fan of Instagram, you'll love to take a picture with Molly Malone. But before you go, make sure to rub her breasts for good luck! Yes, you heard it right, it’s a Dublin custom that many locals and visitors alike follow. So, why not give it a try?\n\nWell, that's all for now at the Molly Malone Statue. Take your time, explore the area, and soak in the charm of Dublin. When you're ready, head on to our next exciting stop on the tour.\n\n"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2F0417%20(1).mp3?alt=media&token=e71c73aa-1b9a-43cb-b094-28c1f14e7439"}]},{"address":"Temple Bar","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.18347772757635147,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":53.34543257653555,"longitude":-6.2646799767683214},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Temple Bar"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2Ftemple-bar.jpg?alt=media&token=253b00cf-ded9-46f6-a1c1-f83b827bf3e1"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2FThe-Long-Hall-Pub-1200x853.jpg?alt=media&token=27996efa-450e-4caa-884d-403f12d117b5"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2FIrish-Whiskey-Magazine-Whiskey-Bars-The-Temple-bar-4.jpg?alt=media&token=779dc332-ae22-4cd0-bb12-68e65aaad43a"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FVBO0OKU2MaIoqtMxBZFy%2FInside%2Bthe%2Bfront%2Bbar%2Bof%2BTemple%2BBar%2Bin%2BDublin.jpg?alt=media&token=0a99a0ef-c631-40b3-8710-387e69319437"},{"type":"text","content":"Next, we'll go to Temple Bar, one of the most vibrant and lively districts in all of Dublin! Can you hear the music filling the air? It's no wonder that this is the go-to spot for a night out in the city.\n\nDid you know that Temple Bar is actually named after Sir William Temple, a renowned politician and writer who once lived in the area? It's true! As he was one of the most influential people in 17th century London, it's only fitting that this neighbourhood, with its rich history and colourful personality, shares his moniker.\n\nAs we stroll through the Temple Bar streets, take a moment to appreciate the unique architecture around us. I once heard someone describe the buildings here as \"a hodgepodge of Georgian, Victorian, and even art deco styles that somehow blend together perfectly.\" You can even find an example of Dublin's colorful painted doors in the area!\n\nSoak in the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy the many restaurants, cafes, galleries, and shops that make Temple Bar such an exciting and eclectic place to visit. His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery.\" The Chester Beatty stop is not just a place to view beautiful art but is also a portal to discover new cultures and learn about different eras in history.\n\nAs a local guide, I have spent countless hours exploring this beautiful museum and discovering new details with every visit.
