It's also very cheap to visit, with the front courtyard, where the slightly cheesy changing of the guard takes place every hour takes place, is free to enter.\n\nThe original was demolished by the Japanese and is still being rebuilt; since my last visit a delightful summer house has appeared and there's more to come.
