I hope you slept soundly, because a full day of Tāmaki Makaurau adventures awaits. Before we step out, give yourself a proper Kiwi send-off downstairs at Bistro Saine.\n\nFor a light but nourishing start, build your own plate from Sourdough Toast with whipped butter and Fiordland honey, or the house-made Bircher Muesli folded with seasonal fruit. Feeling indulgent? Go straight for the Ricotta Hotcakes stacked high, finished with honeycomb butter and lemon syrup. If protein is calling, the kitchen will do Free-Range Eggs Your Style or the ever-popular Eggs Benedict on a toasted English muffin with crisp bacon and silky hollandaise.\n\nPair breakfast with a proper Auckland flat white or a long black pulled from locally roasted beans, and you will be tapping into a very New Zealand morning ritual. Once plates are cleared and coffee cups drained, we will head out into the city fully fuelled and ready for discovery.\n\n","type":"text"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fetn42i5lPowtxp5LAdXe%2Ftts_0.mp3?alt=media&token=d9059090-7521-4f5a-b262-8d96049f59d0"},{"address":"Aotea Square","location":{"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":-36.85242246190266,"longitudeDelta":0.085131206932411,"longitude":174.76315775},"placeId":"ChIJn0svh-9HDW0RMIBTBUuDdjg","media":[{"content":"We're right here in the heart of Auckland culture—Aotea Square. 'Aotea' is Māori for 'White Cloud,' named after one cool Māori canoe.\n\nWhip out your phones, we've got some insta-worthy spots right here! Aotea Square is where city vibes meet culture-meets-art. Ever wondered what standing on a work of art feels like? Take a look at the square's stairs – it's like a rainbow under your feet!\n\nBet you didn't know this square was fought for by Sir Dove-Myer Robinson! Dude spent 18 years pushing for this open space. Now we have this dope square where political rallies, festivals, and art installations all party together.\n\nCheck out the Maori art! 'Waharoa' is an arch at the entrance showing off the locals' rich history. Don't forget to snap some pics that capture the buzz of Aotea Square – a street performer, a wicked angle of an iconic sculpture – whatever grabs you!\n\nOnce you're done exploring, we'll catch a public bus over to Mt. Eden for our next adventure spot in the Mount Eden Walk. But no rush, soak up the atmosphere – this place is awesome! Remember, Auckland is packed with stories worth exploring - let's keep discovering, sharing, and leggin' it around this magical city.\n\n","type":"text"},{"content":{"place_id":"ChIJn0svh-9HDW0RMIBTBUuDdjg"},"type":"place"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fetn42i5lPowtxp5LAdXe%2Ftts_1.mp3?alt=media&token=09767bbe-1f92-4e48-9a4e-8df992213e2b"},{"address":"Aotea Square","location":{"latitude":-36.851863912448955,"longitude":174.7641438376006,"longitudeDelta":0.13092380560724579,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421},"placeId":null,"media":[{"content":"Hop on buses 25B or 25L at Aotea Square and head towards Mount Eden Road. Welcome to the heart of Auckland - Mount Eden, or as the locals call it, Maungawhau. It literally towers over all the volcanic cones here in the city – all 53 of them. Wild, right?\n\nNow, this isn't just an ordinary mountain, folks. Its Maori name, Maungawhau, means 'mountain of the whau tree'. Plenty of those used to cover this hill way back when.\n\nWhile we stroll around this track, just take a moment to enjoy the nature. There's the chirpy sound of native birds, the bright red of the pōhutukawa trees, and the cool grass underfoot. Makes you realise why Kiwis hold this place near and dear, doesn't it?\n\nDon't be shy with your camera either; this is a view you'll want to remember. Go for that 360-selfie, I bet it'll look epic! And hey, keep an eye on that little fenced area to the north- that's the whau tree reserve. It's not as big as it was but every bit as cherished.\n\nSoak it all in, guys. The scent of the sea on the breeze, the tranquillity of it all; it's all part of our shared heritage. When you're ready to trade peace for a bit of energy, we'll head down and explore the lights and action of K-road and LightPath.\n\nFor now, just enjoy. Take snaps, breathe in the air, and make the most of Maungawhau. It's not every day you get to be a part of something so magical, eh?\n\n","type":"text"},{"content":{"formatted_address":"250 Mount Eden Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024, New Zealand","name":"Maungawhau / Mount Eden","geometry":{"location":{"lat":-36.87743349999999,"lng":174.7642824},"viewport":{"east":174.76951065,"north":-36.86746405,"south":-36.88417864999999,"west":174.75966085}},"html_attributions":[],"place_id":"ChIJ8weic9FHDW0RwMucJGLvAA8"},"type":"place"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fetn42i5lPowtxp5LAdXe%2Ftts_4.mp3?alt=media&token=f85c1074-6cb3-4d58-ad80-e048780546bb"},{"address":"Kokoro Kitchen","location":{"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"longitude":174.7609252,"longitudeDelta":0.13092380560724579,"latitude":-36.86436196190782},"placeId":null,"media":[{"content":"Lunch stop - subject to change according to group´s interest","type":"text"},{"content":{"place_id":"ChIJAQAAAMNHDW0RbSCMOGcFdxo"},"type":"place"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2F4i02PzmiTTbCuE2QXsT2%2Ftts_5.mp3?alt=media&token=2579e49d-eab7-4a0f-8b1b-ca1597ace025"},{"address":"The Lightpath","location":{"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"longitudeDelta":0.13092380560724579,"longitude":174.7573163,"latitude":-36.85426311190343},"placeId":null,"media":[{"content":"On our way back to LyLo we will walk through K-road and The Lightpath.","type":"text"},{"content":{"place_id":"ChIJc6iMGupHDW0RTdSvlaxTQOo"},"type":"place"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2F4i02PzmiTTbCuE2QXsT2%2Ftts_6.mp3?alt=media&token=9f84f449-973a-4961-862f-d9c5b84d4f00"},{"address":"Bistro Saine","location":{"longitude":174.7642959,"latitude":-36.84648156190008,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"longitudeDelta":0.1641157563245757},"placeId":"ChIJX3OYBmNHDW0Rjaw8G8LxRUg","media":[{"content":{"place_id":"ChIJX3OYBmNHDW0Rjaw8G8LxRUg"},"type":"place"},{"content":"What a day. From harbour breezes to hidden laneways, I hope Auckland has worked its charm. Now settle back into Bistro Saine and let the team look after you while we toast the day’s memories.\n\nStart easy with something to share: Warm Olives marinated in Gordal and Verdial varieties, or a half-dozen Pacific Oysters with classic mignonette. Follow with a hero plate such as the NZ Wagyu Steak Frites with béarnaise and shoestring fries, or the Market Fish Fillet in saffron-tinted bouillabaisse sauce.\n\nFor the glass, keep it local: a pour of Central Otago Mon Cheval Pinot Noir sings alongside the steak, while Sato’s skin-contact L’Atypique Orange wine is magic with seafood. Cocktail fans might lean into the floral Bee’s Knees or a crisp Spritz stirred with Lillet Rosé and strawberries.\n\nRound things out with the Pear Tarte Tatin and vanilla-bean ice-cream or a silky Crème Caramel. Raise a final glass to Auckland, then glide upstairs knowing the lift home is only steps away. If tomorrow’s itinerary is still blank, consider staying another night, there is always more of the city (and the menu) to savour. Cheers!\n\n","type":"text"}],"ttsFile":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2Fetn42i5lPowtxp5LAdXe%2Ftts_7.mp3?alt=media&token=0b85c825-b8aa-4339-a56f-3bbd28cbf3d3"}]
