The temple features a giant statue of Guan Yin, the goddess of mercy, standing at 69 meters tall. \n\nWat Huay Pla Kang is a relatively new temple, built in 2005. The temple was the vision of Mae Chee Khunying Kanitha Wichiencharoen, a well-known philanthropist and spiritual leader in Thailand. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin, and features a giant statue of her that stands at 69 meters tall, making it one of the tallest statues in Thailand. The temple is located on a hill, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.\n\nTo fully enjoy the experience of Wat Huay Pla Kang, I recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid the crowds and enjoy the cool weather. The temple is also particularly beautiful during sunrise or sunset, as the light hits the statue in a magical way. You should dress appropriately when visiting the temple, covering their shoulders and legs out of respect. You can also take the elevator to the top of the statue to enjoy the panoramic views of Chiang Rai.\n\nAlso, You should not miss the Guan Yin Museum, located at the base of the statue. The museum houses various artifacts related to Buddhism, including sculptures, paintings, and manuscripts. Additionally, You can explore the gardens around the temple, which feature various Buddha statues and other decorative elements. Finally, You can make an offering to Guan Yin and pray for good fortune and blessings.a"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2FSnaptik.app_7075641556404866331.mp4?alt=media&token=33e6132d-86ed-4348-af8e-f465d8d516b2"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2Fwat-huay-pla-kang.jpg?alt=media&token=b80c65b6-e369-4b61-96f7-cae9b14c427c"}]},{"address":"Lalitta Café","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":19.94225130576185,"longitude":99.81161329999999},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Lalitta Café"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F3.mp3?alt=media&token=b8d81a43-037c-4817-a2a9-566526ca5b59"},{"type":"text","content":"After the temple, we will take a short walk to Lalitta Cafe, a cozy coffee shop with a charming garden. This cafe is known for its delicious cakes, and you should try their signature dish, the lavender cake. \n\nOne drink that you definitely have to try when visiting Lalitta Cafe is their famous \"Cafe Bombon.\" This drink is made with espresso and sweetened condensed milk, creating a smooth and creamy texture with a slightly sweet flavor. It's a perfect pick-me-up for those hot afternoons exploring the city.\n\nIn terms of pricing, Lalitta Cafe is fairly affordable, with drinks averaging around 50-100 baht (approximately $1.50-$3 USD). The café also offers a small selection of snacks and light meals, such as sandwiches and pastries, which are also reasonably priced.\n\nAside from their delicious drinks and food, what makes Lalitta Cafe special is its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The café is decorated with vintage furnishings and artwork, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that's perfect for relaxing and enjoying a good book or conversation with friends.\n\nOverall, Lalitta Cafe is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet and charming café experience in the heart of Chiang Rai's old town."},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2Feb4f.jpg?alt=media&token=25064813-b754-4326-aa35-b82a56c55796"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F277439124_135411105680784_417391662413345860_n.jpg?alt=media&token=05074dcd-cfa7-4545-86d2-2d725bae0c82"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2FSnaptik.app_7189522514010213638.mp4?alt=media&token=4e166ca8-0260-46a1-bff8-064a566a4ef6"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F322972054_963804477924435_3962184631639463342_n.jpg?alt=media&token=b6effc7f-f8ff-444b-af8e-9ef745729f7b"}]},{"address":"Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple)","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":19.92351470575596,"longitude":99.84221845000002},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Wat Rong Suea Ten (Blue Temple)"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F4.mp3?alt=media&token=d0b3a3f6-b917-4514-a0d5-a43f0646e2c1"},{"type":"text","content":"Our third stop is Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple. \nBelieve it or not, this temple is relatively new and was only completed in 2016. It was designed by a local artist, Chalermchai Kositpipat, who also designed the famous White Temple in Chiang Rai.\n\nAs you approach the temple, you'll notice the striking blue color of the exterior, which is said to represent the Buddhist idea of \"the dharma,\" or the path to enlightenment. The temple is also adorned with intricate details and glittering mosaics, making it a true feast for the eyes.\n\nOne thing that sets the Blue Temple apart from other landmarks is its focus on incorporating modern elements into traditional temple design. You'll see this in the use of bright colors, contemporary artwork, and even a mural of Superman inside the temple.\n\nYou can enter the temple free of charge, but donations are accepted to help maintain the temple's beauty. When entering the temple, be sure to remove your shoes and dress appropriately, covering your shoulders and knees.\n\nIf you're visiting during peak tourist season, it's best to arrive early in the morning to avoid crowds. Additionally, be respectful of the temple and its visitors, keeping noise levels low and refraining from taking photos during prayer times.\n\nI hope you enjoy your visit to the Blue Temple and take in its unique blend of tradition and modernity. Don't forget to look up at the ceiling to see the stunning mural of Buddha. If you're lucky, you may even catch the monks chanting. It's an unforgettable experience."},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2Ftempleside.jpg?alt=media&token=f190f3bd-b68f-4b3f-9e42-51d313c0e972"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2FWat-Rong-Suea-Ten-Blue-Temple-Chiang-Rai-Thailand-06%20(1).jpg?alt=media&token=71731c81-9474-43f7-b1aa-d809d1dd18e8"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2FBlue-temple-Wat-Rong-Suea-Ten_Chiang-Rai_900_600_tny.jpg?alt=media&token=578cedaf-a21f-4d7c-9791-11ff45bcc918"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F51496786335_90db6ae8ac_c.jpg?alt=media&token=f1ecdbf3-af19-4830-a929-e820e159ac43"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2FSnaptik.app_7092814069769538862.mp4?alt=media&token=e80c2608-f4db-4667-957b-4204ed871201"}]},{"address":"Walking Street Chiang Rai","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":19.908770105751348,"longitude":99.83569145000001},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Walking Street Chiang Rai"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FoaG1bidxGcneqC86P71F%2F0223%20(2).mp3?alt=media&token=715e635c-ea84-495b-8b5a-15ca11490711"},{"type":"text","content":"Our fourth stop is Walking Street Chiang Rai, a vibrant night market that opens on Saturdays and Sundays. You can find local street food, handicrafts, and souvenirs here. The market is bustling with energy, and it's a great place to experience the local culture. Be sure to try some of the local specialties, like khao soi (a spicy noodle soup) or sai oua (a type of spicy sausage).\n\nWalking Street Chiang Rai is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 4pm to 10pm, and it's free to enter. If you're looking for the best deals, be sure to arrive early and be prepared to haggle with vendors. You can also find unique souvenirs at some of the booths, like hand-painted fans or handmade jewelry.\n\nOne of my favorite booths at Walking Street Chiang Rai is the one that sells coconut ice cream.
