Here, you'll get to experience the true flavor of Florence, as locals do. \n\nWhen you enter the market, you'll see several food stalls and counters selling all kinds of goodies. Head over to the Nerbone stall and order their famous lampredotto sandwich. It's a traditional Florentine street food that's made with cow's stomach and served with a spicy green sauce. Trust me; it's delicious!\n\nAnd, don't be afraid to bargain with the vendors. Most of them will be happy to negotiate the price, especially if you're buying in bulk. And if you're not sure what to get, ask for a sample. Most vendors will be happy to let you try before you buy.\n\nOne thing that a lot of tourists miss out on is the second floor of the market. Here, you'll find several wine bars, craft beer counters, and more food options. It's a perfect place to relax, take a break from the crowd, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks.\n\nAlso, if you're looking to do some grocery shopping, head to the back of the market, and you'll find several vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, and cheeses. It's a perfect place to stock up on some local ingredients and cook a meal at home.\n\nI recommend stopping at the Nerbone stall for their famous lampredotto, a traditional Florentine street food. The sandwich is made with slow-cooked tripe and served with a spicy green sauce. Trust me; it's delicious!\n\nHope these tips help you enjoy Mercato Centrale like a true Florentine!"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F5af4e6192d1947968dbbd5618c7b2b2a.jpg?alt=media&token=c85c4c44-f1e2-49ba-a936-1f87aa6f32dc"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2FMercato_centrale_di_san_lorenzo_01.jpg?alt=media&token=e4f340c9-d920-4f7b-9bee-77495d762cbf"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F05.jpg?alt=media&token=5ba0fb51-baff-4d8b-b0dd-57605ea14e19"}]},{"address":"Piazza del Duomo","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":43.77343851521452,"longitude":11.256550099999991},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Piazza del Duomo\n"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(1).mp3?alt=media&token=dfc24a8d-c3a5-4550-81bd-7d7253e5a248"},{"type":"text","content":"We have arrived at the heart of Florence, the Piazza del Duomo. Look around, you'll see three magnificent buildings: the Florence Cathedral (also known as the Duomo), the Baptistery, and the Campanile (bell tower). Did you know that the dome of the cathedral was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi and took over 16 years to complete? It's an engineering marvel and one of the most significant landmarks of Florence. \n\nFirst things first, take a moment to appreciate the sheer size and beauty of the Florence Cathedral. It's an architectural masterpiece that took over 140 years to build. Take a walk around the cathedral and observe the intricate details of the facade. If you're up for it, you can climb to the top of the dome for a breathtaking view of the city.\n\nNext, head to the Baptistery. This is one of the oldest buildings in Florence and a true gem of the city. The highlight of the Baptistery is the golden doors, which are adorned with intricate reliefs depicting biblical scenes. Fun fact: the doors that you see now are replicas, and the originals are kept in a nearby museum.\n\nFinally, climb up the Campanile for a panoramic view of the city. The bell tower is over 80 meters tall, and the climb up can be a bit tiring, but it's definitely worth it. You'll get an incredible view of the city and see the red rooftops of Florence stretch out for miles.\n\nAlso, keep in mind that the Piazza del Duomo can get pretty crowded, especially during peak hours. So, try to visit early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid the crowds.\n\nOne last thing, there's a Gelateria right next to the Cathedral called \"La Strega Nocciola\" that serves some of the best gelato in the city. Trust me; you won't regret stopping by for a sweet treat after all that sightseeing."},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Ff1baa9f9941fa6e9ac67163713c9144c.jpg?alt=media&token=df884006-f1be-4d86-9efb-c7d58844eb42"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F4b29d1136271670261a4b2e65e3f15bb.jpg?alt=media&token=034a75f3-cec2-4b97-bf1f-b4d42b29331e"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F42c4411309e5dfcf9a58c2e52156467d.jpg?alt=media&token=6b1657c8-014f-4f93-b28e-0a0ed008938c"},{"type":"video","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2FSnaptik.app_7180822708651904262.mp4?alt=media&token=b53f7066-bcc8-465f-87b4-92fdf5b7f032"}]},{"address":"Ponte Vecchio","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":43.76796906521164,"longitude":11.25310204999999},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Ponte Vecchio"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(2).mp3?alt=media&token=a74554dd-2aab-4ae0-a08d-08c37fbf39a8"},{"type":"text","content":"We're now walking towards the iconic Ponte Vecchio, a bridge over the Arno River, and one of the most photographed landmarks of Florence. Did you know that the bridge was built in the 14th century and is lined with jewelry shops? Legend has it that the Medici family used the Vasari Corridor to cross the bridge without being seen by the public. Take a stroll on the bridge and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and the city.\n\nPonte Vecchio is one of the most iconic landmarks in Florence, and it's easy to see why. This medieval stone bridge stretches over the Arno River and has a history that dates back to the Roman era. In the past, it was lined with shops that sold all kinds of goods, but today, it's mostly known for its jewelry shops.\n\nThe bridge has had a tumultuous history, having been destroyed and rebuilt multiple times. During World War II, the Germans destroyed all of the bridges in Florence except for the Ponte Vecchio, which was saved by the intervention of an officer who disobeyed the order.\n\nThe cultural values of Ponte Vecchio run deep, especially when it comes to the jewelry shops. The bridge is famous for its high-end jewelry, and many of the shops have been passed down from generation to generation. The jewelry shops on Ponte Vecchio were historically run by Jewish merchants, who were banished from the bridge in 1593 by the Medici family. In their place, goldsmiths were allowed to set up shop, and the tradition of jewelry making has continued to this day.\n\nWhat makes Ponte Vecchio truly unique is its architecture and originality. The bridge is made of stone and has three arches, with shops on either side. One interesting fact is that the bridge is not perfectly straight, but rather it's curved, which makes for an interesting sight when viewed from a distance.\n\nTake a stroll along the bridge and admire the jewelry shops and the view of the Arno River. If you're interested in buying some jewelry, be prepared to spend a pretty penny, as the shops on the bridge are known for their high-end pieces. But even if you're not in the market for jewelry, it's still worth a visit just to take in the history and beauty of this iconic landmark.\n\nIf you're looking for a great spot to take some photos of the bridge, head to the nearby Piazzale Michelangelo, which offers a stunning panoramic view of the bridge and the city."},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Faaec04684dae4c95f5213d08d2ef39ef.jpg?alt=media&token=c9e206a0-f609-4172-85cb-c1e2a580c5f1"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F9bbef47b064712805a7f3c82900570ff.jpg?alt=media&token=a0617d3d-d5a9-4a85-9ed3-0e6e23b54cf4"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fb73e8874da6f893d914406c0c737701b.jpg?alt=media&token=214478d7-704c-44a0-8b72-ece83c64e8f3"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F873afc5de2a2eec13124084668be2aa7.jpg?alt=media&token=3f4e42b9-1960-467f-8646-91c9c2480bda"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fdd22c66acc9a779d1b5e9111f31f269d.jpg?alt=media&token=7763cd05-f704-4b88-95e7-1dc9d8873803"}]},{"address":"The Boboli Gardens","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":43.76322637928393,"longitude":11.24796055},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(3).mp3?alt=media&token=2c20b9b9-cd85-489a-b133-e06866728797"},{"type":"text","content":"Next, we will visit the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens, a large outdoor space with lush greenery, sculptures and fountains. It is a perfect place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.\n\nPalazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens are two of the most beautiful and historic landmarks in Florence.\n\nPalazzo Pitti was originally built for the Pitti family, who were wealthy bankers in the 15th century. The building was eventually bought by the Medici family, who used it as their primary residence. Today, the Palazzo Pitti is a museum, and visitors can explore the royal apartments, galleries, and gardens.\n\nThe cultural values of Palazzo Pitti are rooted in the Medici family's love of art and culture. The Medici family were patrons of the arts and their collections are on display throughout the Palazzo. The art on display includes works by famous Italian artists such as Raphael, Caravaggio, and Titian, among others. In addition to the art, the Palazzo also houses a costume gallery that features clothing from the 16th to the 20th century.\n\nOne of the most unique features of the Palazzo is the Boboli Gardens. These expansive gardens are spread out over 45,000 square meters and offer stunning views of the city of Florence. The gardens are filled with fountains, sculptures, and manicured lawns. Visitors can take a stroll through the gardens and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of this historic site.\n\nWhen visiting Palazzo Pitti and Boboli Gardens, it's important to plan ahead. The gardens are quite large, so wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water. The Palazzo can also get quite crowded, so consider purchasing tickets in advance or visiting during non-peak hours.\n\nFinally, be sure to take your time exploring the Palazzo and the gardens. There's so much to see and appreciate, from the art and architecture to the natural beauty of the gardens. And don't forget to stop by the nearby Santo Spirito neighborhood for a meal or a drink at one of the local cafes or restaurants."},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2F43cb8d043b6c887d136a3d9709920484.jpg?alt=media&token=64b4b6e2-1b09-4066-85d0-8903c08d87ac"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fpalazzo-pitti-940x628.jpg?alt=media&token=180e0bf5-ebd8-4380-9092-9d323320ab00"},{"type":"link","content":"https://www.uffizi.it/giardino-boboli/"},{"type":"img","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fboboli_marcobadiani_14-scaled.jpg?alt=media&token=a9e19ee6-0902-4f61-955c-6f38e2cdf675"}]},{"address":"Gelateria Santa Trinita","location":{"longitudeDelta":0.14321712068773834,"latitudeDelta":0.09219986310369421,"latitude":43.76848341521188,"longitude":11.249890599999981},"media":[{"type":"text","content":"# Gelateria Santa Trinita"},{"type":"audio","content":"https://firebasestorage.googleapis.com/v0/b/freeguides-prod.appspot.com/o/assets%2Ftours%2FE2MOSbTuCC60kHsnVwqD%2Fsynthesized_audio%20(4).mp3?alt=media&token=e5a79106-e145-4cd9-8021-3552291c7710"},{"type":"text","content":"We're now heading towards our final stop, Gelateria Santa Trinita, a local gelato shop that offers some of the best gelato in Florence. \nGelateria Santa Trinita is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves gelato. Located in the heart of Florence, this gelateria is known for its high-quality ingredients and traditional gelato-making techniques.\n\nThe story of Gelateria Santa Trinita dates back to 1958 when the Martelli family started making gelato in the back of their bakery. Today, the family still runs the gelateria, and they continue to use the same traditional techniques to make their gelato.\n\nOne of the unique things about Gelateria Santa Trinita is that they use only the highest quality ingredients to make their gelato. They source their pistachios from Bronte, Sicily, their hazelnuts from the Piedmont region, and their lemons from the Amalfi coast. They also use organic milk and cream from local farms.\n\nWhen you visit Gelateria Santa Trinita, be prepared to be overwhelmed by the selection of flavors. From classics like chocolate and strawberry to more unique flavors like pear and pecorino cheese, there's something for everyone. And if you're not sure what to choose, the friendly staff will be happy to give you a sample or two to help you decide.\n\nThe gelateria can get quite busy during peak hours, but it's well worth the wait. And if you're in a hurry, they also offer takeout so you can enjoy your gelato on the go.\n\nI highly recommend trying the pistachio gelato; it's my personal favorite.\n\nI hope you enjoyed the tour and got to experience the beauty and culture of Florence.
